The Yackandandah Community Development Company is committed to enhancing the social, economic and cultural life of Yackandandah and its surrounding areas through supporting initiatives by community groups and individuals.


Support may be in various forms such as information and advice, assistance with grant applications for specific projects or direct financial sponsorship of projects or activities.


The links below provide information for community groups and individuals looking for support for particular initiatives from a range of local, state and federal funding bodies.

Youth Awards


YCDCo is proud to support local young people who contribute to the wellbeing of their community. These awards seek to provide recognition of the many ways young people contribute positively to our community.


Eligibility:

  • Nominee primary residence must be within a 15km radius of the Yackandandah township;
  • Prizes will be awarded to young people who initiate or contribute to local community wellbeing that is 'environmentally, and/or socially, and/or culturally' focused. (Local is designated to be within 50 kilometres of Yack Post Office.);
  • 'Junior Youth Award' - Awarded to one person who is still at primary school during 2016;
  • 'Senior Youth Award' - Awarded to one person 21 years of age, or younger, on the 26th of January, 2016.

Prizes and Judging:

  • Junior Youth Award - $250.00;
  • Senior Youth Award - $400.00;
  • Awards will be announced and presented at the Yackandandah Australia Day celebrations in Sir Isaac Isaacs Park on the 26th of January each year.

Entries:

  • Entries open on Monday the 19th of October, 2015;
  • Entries close at 5:00pm on Friday the 4th of December, 2015.
