Community Initiative Sponsorship - Indigo Shire Information
Indigo Shire intend to place information about their Community Grants Program on their web site at some stage in the future. In the meantime, we have included a copy of page 1 of their program below. Note that the timelines indicated are still in draft.
Introduction
Indigo Shire Council acknowledges and accepts the need to provide financial assistance to groups and organisations either locally based or those meeting a demonstrated need within the Shire where alternative grants/loans aid is either limited or not available and a clearly defined objective can be targeted.
To meet this need, Indigo Shire's 2006/2007 Community Grants Program is now inviting applications from the community under the following categories:
Part A - Community Grants - General
(Note: there will be an allocation from Part A for art and cultural projects)$25,000 Part C - Community Grants - Youth Initiatives Grants $ 5,000
Potential applicants should contact Council to discuss the suitability of their proposed project prior to an application being submitted.
Guidelines and Criteria for Funding
It is recommended that applicants read through the Community Grants Policy (pages 2-4 of this Grants Information Pack) and the Criteria for Assessment of Grants (page 5 of this Pack) for more information on eligibility criteria, application requirements, information of the GST and other conditions.
Timelines
3 July 2006 Applications open 18 August 2006 Applications close September 2006 Applications assessed by Indigo Shire Community Advisory Committee (ISCAC), recommendations made to Council 3 October 2006 Consideration of ISCAC recommendations at Council Meeting October 2006 Payments forwarded to successful applicants
